In Joomla, a new web page is created by 1. Making a new link in a menu (called a "Menu Item"), and 2. linking a "Content Item" into that blank page. The "content items" are the packages that contain your words and pictures for a page. In terms of how to think about Joomla its best to think of "Pages" as just blank boxes created by each menu item link. And then you fill those blank boxes with the content items that contain your words and pictures.
